Real experiences from patients who’ve worked with Angela.
"I truly cannot say enough good things about Angela. Working with her through pregnancy and postpartum was one of the greatest gifts I gave myself during this season of life.
From the very beginning, Angela combined incredible knowledge and professionalism with such warmth and kindness. Pelvic floor therapy can feel like a very vulnerable topic, but she has a way of making you feel completely comfortable, safe, and understood. I never once felt awkward — only supported and empowered.
During pregnancy, I was dealing with urine leakage, pain with intercourse, and overall pelvic floor weakness. With Angela’s guidance, we were able to significantly improve these symptoms before I even gave birth. But beyond the physical progress, she prepared me mentally for labor in a way that made me feel strong, informed, and confident in my birth plan. I went into delivery feeling grounded and empowered instead of anxious.
Birth didn’t go exactly as planned. I experienced a second-degree tear and a tailbone injury that left me in severe pain. When I was told there was nothing that could be done for my tailbone, I was devastated. I could barely sit — which made breastfeeding and caring for my newborn incredibly difficult. What should have been one of the happiest days of my life was also one of the most physically painful and emotionally exhausting.
Angela stepped in with such compassion and skill. Through careful, targeted work on the muscles surrounding my tailbone, she helped me make remarkable progress. Within six weeks, I went from standing in her office with 9/10 pain, unable to sit, to comfortably sitting, driving, and even forgetting at times that I had been injured. Years ago, I had a similar tailbone injury and couldn’t sit for nine months — Angela helped me heal further in six weeks than I did in nine months the first time.
I’ve always believed that sometimes the best therapy for your mental health is physical therapy, and working with Angela confirmed that once again. She didn’t just help my body heal — she restored my confidence and comfort during one of the most vulnerable seasons of my life.
At my six-week postpartum checkup, I’m moving forward with a stronger-than-average pelvic floor, significantly reduced pain, the ability to sit and care for my baby comfortably, and a lifelong understanding of how to support my body.
I am so deeply grateful for Angela. Any person would be lucky to have her in their corner."
"I am very pleased to recommend Angela for any urinary incontinence issues you may be experiencing.. I had tried to rectify this problem by myself for some time, but it wasn't helping. I had tried pads, which further dried, already dry skin tissues. The pessary was recommended by my gynecologist. I tried 2 different sizes; it just wasn't for me. I was doing pelvic floor exercises; however, they weren't working very well for me. I had not realized my pelvic floor muscles were very weak until she told me. She coached me through how to concentrate on, and isolate muscles. I continued to make progress until I no longer had routine accidents. Being more mindful of my bladder helped me immensely. Also, she shared many tips, that have greatly increased my confidence and ability to handle this issue to about 95% more successfully."
"Halfway through my first pregnancy, I began experiencing intense tailbone pain, hip discomfort, and low-back strain that was limiting my movement and made the second half of my pregnancy miserable. I addressed these concerns with my physician, and I was told it was just a normal part of pregnancy - not exactly what I wanted to hear! When it came time to give birth, I ended up with an exceptionally long labor resulting in significant pelvic floor nerve damage. I was left with limited pelvic floor strength, intense pain, poor ability to hold my bowel and bladder, and overall disenchantment with the entire pregnancy experience. At my postpartum 6-week appointment, my physician was shocked at how little strength I had in my pelvic floor and sent a referral to pelvic floor physical therapy. It was life changing! I did not realize how much my pelvic floor functioning impacted my daily life. By working with Angela in physical therapy, I was able to retrain my pelvic floor, significantly reduce my pain, regain control of my bowel and bladder, and live a normal life as a new mother! Because of the information I learned throughout my physical therapy journey, I was excited when I became pregnant with my second! I knew there was help for the discomfort of pregnancy and I did not have to live in pain. During my second and third pregnancies, I made sure to ask my OB about doing physical therapy right away to make my 9-month journey a little more tolerable! Angela is always so willing to go above and beyond to make sure pregnancy is as comfortable as possible. Going to that first pelvic floor PT appointment was the best decision I have ever made, and it has helped me have significantly better pregnancies and postpartum experiences for my other pregnancies. I can't recommend Angela and pelvic floor therapy enough!"
"My experience with Angela Avalos has been nothing short of incredible. She is a thorough healer in the truest sense—deeply attentive, compassionate, and an exceptional listener. Every response and treatment is thoughtful and intentional, never rushed. What truly sets her apart is her ability to take a deeper dive beyond the musculoskeletal system; she looks at the whole person, not just the symptoms. Her care transcends movement and standard treatments, reaching something genuinely deeper and more meaningful. I felt truly seen, heard, and supported throughout my healing journey, and I am profoundly grateful for her expertise and care."
"When I started pelvis floor therapy during pregnancy, I was having pain in my lower back and hips. It felt like my hips were going to rip apart when I would stand up especially after laying flat. Angela worked on pain management as well as building strength by working on this in clinic and giving me exercises and stretches to do at home to maximize growth. Angela helped me starting at about 13 weeks pregnant to about 2 months after birth and I couldn’t have imagined what my pregnancy and postpartum journey would have been like without her."
"During my second pregnancy, I began experiencing significant discomfort that affected my daily life more than I expected - especially while caring for my toddler. I dealt with pelvic floor issues, pubic symphysis pain, and tailbone discomfort that made simple tasks like walking, sitting, lifting, and keeping up with my 2 year-old challenging. As my pregnancy progressed, the pain became more noticeable, and I knew I needed support rather than just “waiting it out”.
Finding and working with Angela made a huge difference in my pregnancy experience.
From the very beginning, I felt heard, validated, and cared for on a level I had not experienced before. Angela took the time to truly understand what I was experiencing and created a personalized plan to address my specific needs. She consistently checked in, adjusted my plan as my body changed, and made me feel like my concerns truly mattered. I learned so much about my body - especially how the pelvic floor works and how it changes during pregnancy and postpartum.
Through guided exercises, hands-on techniques, and education, I began to notice real improvements. My pubic symphysis pain became more manageable, my tailbone discomfort decreased, and I felt more confident with my at-home exercises. This made a huge difference not only in my comfort, but in my ability to care for and stay active with my toddler day-to-day. Just as importantly, I felt empowered. Instead of feeling limited by pain, I had tools and strategies to support myself throughout the rest of my pregnancy.
Continuing physical therapy postpartum was just as impactful. Recovery after birth while caring for a toddler can feel overwhelming, but having that continued support from Angela made a huge difference. I was able to safely rebuild strength, improve my core stability, and address lingering pelvic floor concerns in a way that felt gradual and sustainable just weeks after delivering.
Looking back, Angela’s expertise and personalized care went far beyond pain relief - she completely changed my experience of pregnancy and recovery. Through her guidance, I was able to better support my body, stay present for my growing family, and move into postpartum healing with confidence and knowledge.
Since working so closely with Angela, I’ve recommended her to many friends and family members because I truly believe every mom deserves the level of care and support she provides. Angela helped me realize that you don’t have to just push through the pain - there is real support available, and it can completely change your experience."
"In my early 20s I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Before and after my excision surgery, I experienced bowel and bladder pain, urinary incontinence, abdominal weakness, and pain with intimacy. None of the specialists or doctors I saw recommended pelvic floor PT. However, I had learned that pelvic floor PT could be transformative for women with endometriosis whether that was before or after surgery. I started going to Angela and experienced that transformation for myself. For the first time in a year, I am starting to feel like myself again. I no longer have pain, incontinence, and have been able to get back into the gym. Not only is Angela so caring and compassionate but also knowledgeable. She will not only treat the issue at hand but also give you the tools so you can continue to feel your best.”
"I was fortunate enough to have Angela as my Physical Therapist after my total knee surgery 2 years ago. I knew I was going to be requesting Angela after my recent back surgery.
I truly cannot say enough wonderful and kind things about Angela. Her knowledge is incredible and it shows in everything she does.
From the very beginning, I felt like Angela genuinely cared about me as a patient and truly wanted me to succeed in my therapy.
Angela is so kind an caring and thoughtful about how my progress is going. She sees things I don't and quickly guides me in the right direction so that I will see and feel the progress. I recommend her to all my friends and family. I look forward to my next session as I know I will see progress. I am so blessed and grateful to have her for my Physical Therapist."
